At HI-TEK we are experts at large rotor balancing. Our personnel knows how to handle large parts and our 10 metric- ton overhead bridge crane allows us to handle your parts with the care they deserve.
Hi-Tek Balancing has built much of its own balancing equipment using modern electronics to give us the best usability in the industry.
The 20,000 pound Gisholt soft bearing balancer was built in the 1950’s and is made of extremely heavy fabricated steel plate. The bearing roller assemblies were custom designed and built at our facility. They are self-aligning to reduce thrusting preventing shaft damage.
The balancing stands sit on a custom rail foundation with the capability of over 35 feet in length and 14 foot diameter rotors. Coupled with modern electronics, this balancer can achieve less than .0005 in displacement at as low as 80 rpm. We have engineered this machine to have a tune-able resonant frequency. This allows us to balance large rotors to low tolerances without having to spin heavy rotors at high speed. Hard bearing balance machines usually require at least 200 rpm to get readings and that is usually too slow to get good resolution.
Hi-Tek has two other high capacity balancers soft and hard bearing balancers that allow us to handle parts from 500 pounds up to 10,000 pounds.
