CNC Milling
As a machining process, milling has been around for many, many years. Similar to both cutting and drilling, milling uses a rotating cylindrical cutting tool, but unlike drilling, which occurs along a single axis, milling can accept work pieces that move across the cutting tool in different directions, creating a wide variety of shapes, slots, and holes.
Today, milling has become a highly-precise operation controlled by computers. This form of milling is known as computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling and is the most widely used type of CNC machining. In fact, the advanced CNC milling machines we use here at HI-TEK Balancing can produce specific shapes that are virtually impossible to produce with any manual tooling techniques.
